The Economy and the Election

I think it's really interesting that since the bailout bill and all that Obama has increased in polls. While I do think that Obama will do better for the economy than McCain, it's a mostly emotional argument and I'm not sure what I would back it up with. Are the rest of Americans seeing it as the same? Did McCain's comment that the fundamentals of our economy are strong hurt him that much? And if he really did mean the American workforce, why aren't Americans agreeing? The Dow dropped over 500 points today before recovering and the new Bailout is filled with even more pork (Nancy Pelosi, I am SO disappointed in you!) than makes sense for an economic rescue. I wonder if Obama's lead due to the economy will last.
